Hello Rainbow Creek Families!

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather and getting out in the fresh spring air. As we move into the final four days of school before our break, we have an update on the expansion of our school with the addition of four portables to be attached to the northeast end of our building. The work is scheduled to begin on or around the week we return from our break. The area outside the grade 5 doors will be cordoned off with a fence prior to the start of the official work to prep the site.

With the addition of the fence, the grade 5 doors will become inaccessible, and we will need to redesignate some students to different doors for entrance and exit. We will provide an update on these changes next week.

Please remember that the school will be closed to both students and staff from Friday, April 18th through to Sunday, April 27th. We will welcome our learning community back to school on Monday, April 28th.

K-3 Yoga for Kids – April 15th and 16th - We are so excited that our own Ms. DiLello is going to be offering a yoga session to our K-3 students! Students will explore an introduction to mindfulness, learn some yoga poses and play yoga games. Thank you, Ms. DiLello for sharing your passion and expertise with our students. We look forward to offering this same opportunity to our 4-6 students in the near future.

OurSchool Parent Survey - Please keep an eye out in the coming weeks for more information regarding the OurSchool Parent survey. This past week students in grades 4-6 participated in the student version of the survey, and now we will be asking for your feedback as well. The data collected from this survey drives the creation of school goals and directly impacts how we operate in the school day to day. Please look for more information coming soon.

Important Field Trip Information – We are hoping to streamline our field trip procedures to ensure all kids can participate in the exciting programs we offer. Moving forward, we kindly ask that all payment and volunteer paperwork be completed 3 business days prior to the field trip. This will allow us enough time to ensure everything is processed and accounted for properly and in a timely fashion. Students who do not pay for programs will not be able to participate in them. If for any reason, a field trip causes financial strain for your family, please reach out to administration so we can find a way to support your child’s participation in the program.

We will also require volunteers to have completed all paperwork (RCMP check, annual forms and Informed Consent) 3 days prior to the field trip as well.

School Cash On Line

If you haven't already, please make sure you have registered for School Cash Online.  Informed Consent forms for field trips will be found there. Payments must be made through School Cash On Line as we will no longer be accepting cash. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

Cutting Help - We still have lots of sight words that need cut out, hole punched and put onto rings. If you are willing and able to take some home to do, we have ziploc bags full in the office, or you can email Mrs. Napier at: rnapier@rockyview.ab.ca to have me send some home in your child's backpack.

A huge thank you to the families who have been cutting for us! It is a very large undertaking!
