Greetings RCE Families!

As we begin the first week of October, we want to celebrate the wonderful efforts of our entire school community. Our students have been working hard in their learning and are demonstrating safe, kind, caring, and responsible choices each day. We are so proud of the positive example they set for one another. Thank you as well to our staff for their dedication, encouragement, and commitment to creating a supportive environment where every student can succeed. Together, we are building a strong and caring school community.

Events for October:

The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA), which represents teachers and school administrators across the province, announced the ATA voted 89.5 per cent against the agreement presented in provincial negotiations. This allows a strike to proceed on Oct. 6, 2025. All schools, including online, are preparing to close starting Oct. 6. No teaching, assigning or preparing of work, or grading of student work will take place during a strike.

Your child should bring any important items home from school as the school will not be accessible during a strike.

Please ensure your family reads Rocky View Schools emails and check the RVS website for updates.

All events for the month of October will either be cancelled or rescheduled. We will communicate with families once school resumes.

Apple Fundraiser: If schools are not re-opened prior to the apple fundraising pick-up date, School Council Chair, Candis Legacy will reach out to provide information on an alternate pick-up location.

School Photo Ordering: Can be completed online through Lifetouch. If you have sent payment to the school, there will be a delay in processing your order.

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
