Please follow Rainbow Creek Elementary on our new Instagram account to keep up to date with all of the fun events and fantastic learning opportunities at our school.

We have a very busy month ahead and remind families to take note of the important events happening in October.

Welcome to the first week of October! As the weather cools, students are reminded to dress for outdoor conditions.

We had our first Colour House Day where students worked collectively to choose their Colour House names. It was so nice to see our students work together in a cooperative manner to come up with their name for the year

Terry Fox Pledge Forms – All pledge forms are due on  Monday, October 7th. Thank you for your support and donations.

Choir Club – Grade 3, 4, and 4/5 Split Class:Throughout the school year, students from Grades 3 to 6 will have the opportunity to participate in OPTIONAL music programs during lunch recess with Mrs. Werner. The goal of these programs is to teach proper singing technique, improve musicianship skills, and have fun learning new music outside their regular music classes.  Students will also get an opportunity to perform an extra set of songs during our winter or spring concerts.

Not all grades will participate at the same time and different clubs will be offered throughout the school year. We will begin with CHOIR CLUB for the Grades 3, 4 and the 4/5 split class. We will be starting on Tuesday, October 8th for our first rehearsal. Grade 4 and 4/5 split students will need to eat their lunch in the music room during their recess time, then stay afterwards for rehearsal. Grade 3 students will eat lunch at their regular time, then come to the music room during their lunch recess time.

PLEASE E-MAIL Mrs. Werner by Monday, October 7th if your child would like to participate!  swerner@rockyview.ab.ca

Stuff the Turkey Food Bank Drive (October 1st–10th)
In the spirit of giving, we’re launching our “Stuff the Turkey” drive to support the Chestermere Food Bank. If you’re able, we would love for your family to send a few non-perishable items with your child before Thanksgiving. Suggested items include small cereal boxes, fruit or pudding cups, juice boxes, granola bars, fruit snacks, jam, rice, dish soap, kleenex, toilet paper, and paper towels. Our students will compete within their Colour Houses to see which house can bring in the most donations—it's a fun way to give back!

Professional Learning Day – Friday, October 11 – No School for Students
