Whiskers Weekly September 20, 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This coming week at Rainbow Creek, our focus will be on one of the pillars of our Positive Behaviour Intervention and Supports Model – Safety. Our announcements, some of the work with our students in classes, and reminders on the playground will centre around reminding our learning community what it means to be safe. We are so proud of our students when they choose to walk and behave safely and responsibly in the halls and classrooms, and when they choose to play and interact safely with their friends and peers on the playground.

Student Playground Leaders

(Supportive Role Only) – Recess Assistants: Our leadership students are located on both sides of the main playground, as well as one student by the wood park during the Gr 1, 2, & 3 snack and lunch recess times. A teacher or staff can locate them quickly by looking for the pink vest. They are there to assist staff supervising the playground. When a child has a minor injury and needs help to the office, the recess assistant can take the student in. Recess assistants may also assist with finding a student that has been paged to go inside, or any reasonable small task a supervisor may need assistance with.  Special thanks to our amazing students for their citizenship and support with safety.

Cooler Weather – Please ensure your child is always prepared for the weather. Packing a change of clothes is always a good idea. We have a very limited supply of clean clothes at the office.

Picture Day – All students had their picture taken on Wednesday, September 18th. If your student was away, our re-take and class photo day will take place on Monday, October 28th. Please mark your calendars. There will be a separate message sent home explaining how to order your school pictures.
